Various times throughout the conference
The Discovery Expo is your opportunity to engage in peer-to-peer learning, which includes networking and benchmarking with people from notable organizations. You can also meet one-on-one with JMP developers, both to learn tips and tricks for using JMP and to share your hopes and suggestions for upcoming versions of the software. Posters will be on display throughout the conference, though authors will be present only at designated times.
Monday, Sept. 9, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
At Monday night’s welcome dinner, we’ll sit down on the fan-cooled patio of Rio Cibolo Ranch to enjoy Texas BBQ, Texas margaritas and other assorted beverages, and campfire s’mores for dessert. But the event is not only about the food. The 130-acre working pecan orchard and Texas longhorn cattle ranch offers a wandering musical trio, mechanical cow roping and more. It’s the perfect place to get into the Texas spirit, so feel free to wear your jeans. This will be the first opportunity to mingle with fellow JMP users, paper and poster presenters, and other conference attendees.
Tuesday, Sept. 10, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Built in 1894, Pearl Stable originally served as the home for a brewery’s draft horses. Today, the fully restored Victorian-era architecture creates an ideal setting for a dinner celebrating the history of Texas. The meal will highlight the state’s history by featuring foods from the six sovereign nations that have controlled the territory – known as the “Six Flags” of Texas.
A cocktail hour will be held at the conference hotel prior to dinner.
Wednesday, Sept. 11, 6:00 to 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday’s dinner will be held at the Lonesome Dove Ballroom. Located on the banks of the famed River Walk, and right next to the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the ballroom merges the spirit of the Old West with a luxurious and contemporary feel. The ballroom also offers the opportunity to dine outdoors, weather permitting.
