New Video: Bradley Jones Talk on Optimal Experiment Design »
International Year of StatisticsJMP Principal Research Fellow Bradley Jones gave a presentation at Discovery Summit 2012 on common misconceptions about experiment design. This talk is now available on the JMP channel on YouTube. With an introduction by industrial experiment design pioneer Stu Hunter – who says that if he taught experiment design today, he would "have to teach it in a profoundly different manner" based on Jones' methods – this presentation provides many examples that demonstrate the efficacy of optimal design.

Statistics 2013
Which Statistician Is Your Favorite? »
International Year of Statistics2013 is the International Year of Statistics, and JMP and SAS are celebrating! One way will be via the JMP Blog, where we will recognize one influential statistician each month, as selected by John Sall, the creator of JMP and ASA Fellow. Help us kick off this celebration by telling us which statistician we should start with. Should our January honoree be R.A. Fisher, Gertrude Cox, John Tukey, George Box or Walter Shewhart? Vote in our poll in the JMP Professional Network on LinkedIn – join this LinkedIn group to vote. If you don't like any of the five choices, write in your own statistician candidate in the Comments section.

Have you tried... »
…defining the spec limits on an axis to be used as reference lines? The column properties in JMP make data tables a rich storage format by attaching a lot of metadata to each column. One of the column properties is Spec Limits, which lets you set specification limits for use in capability analysis. You can show these limits as reference lines when you use a column in a graph by selecting "Show as graph reference lines." Turn this option on, and any time you use this column, you'll get reference lines.
