Innovative Applications in Design of Experiments

Watch the Keynote and Q&A

In this Statistically Speaking, hear from three subject experts as they explore recent innovations within experimental design methods, provide insight into the utility of combinatorial testing in DOE, and discuss how applications of DOE in the aerospace industry can simultaneously reduce costs and improve product quality.

What you’ll learn

  • How to expand the ways you apply and use designed experiments.
  • Why DOE is relevant to reducing cost and improving product quality in the aerospace industry.
  • How to discover faults due to the interaction of two or more inputs in DOE.

Meet the speakers

Ryan Lekivetz
Senior Manager of Advanced Analytics R&D, JMP

Ryan Lekivetz is a Senior Manager of Advanced Analytics R&D at JMP, heading the Design of Experiments (DOE) and Reliability Development team. Ryan earned his doctorate in statistics from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. He has published papers on DOE topics in peer-reviewed journals and holds many patents that he shares with his team members.

Yeng Saanchi
Analytics Software Tester, JMP

Yeng Saanchi is an Analytics Software Tester at JMP.  She received her master’s and Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Michigan and North Carolina State University, respectively. Her research is primarily in the areas of stochastic optimization and applications of optimal experimental designs to precision medicine, but she’s always open to exploring new areas whenever the occasion presents itself.

Bryce Scott
Student in Aerospace Engineering, NC State

Bryce Scott is a senior studying aerospace engineering at North Carolina State University with a minor in business administration. As a Sales Engineering Intern at JMP, he became interested in design of experiments, seeking to combine it with his knowledge of the aerospace industry. Upon graduation in May 2025, Bryce hopes to pursue a career in technical sales, while also continuing his passion for aerospace.

Want more on DOE? Join JMP’s Tom Donnelly on Aug. 21 for a Technically Speaking webinar on reverse engineering via design of experiments (DOE) and explore how to create models to make powerful predictions in less time and using fewer resources.
