JMP User Lightning Talks-

How JMP Helps Us Understand Our Customer, Steve Czupryna, The Pyzdek Institute LLC

A case study from the sports equipment industry demonstrates the use of a MaxDiff design.  The goal was to better understand an important mountain climbing rope property that was impossible to measure directly.  The study provided the insight needed to make an important commercial decision and unexpectedly provided new knowledge deemed useful for manufacturing process optimization.

Design of Experiments with a Thermographic Response, Steve Czupryna, The Pyzdek Institute LLC

This presentation will demonstrate how an I-optimal DOE experiment dramatically improved a plastics thermoforming process used in the orthotic brace industry.  The goal was to address patient fit and irritation complaints caused by post-thermoforming distortion.  A thermal imager was used to evaluate the temperature profile of a copolymer plastic blank and the standard deviation of the data from a cropped thermographic image was used as a response.
