Our commitment to quality
JMP Statistical Discovery LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of SAS, has continued to refine a research-centric process since JMP was first available in 1989. This process is built on partnerships with customers in key industries and leading researchers in academia. JMP shares the mission, philosophy, and software development lifecycle established in SAS® Software Security Framework.
SAS® Software Security Framework
About JMP® Software
JMP dynamically links statistics with graphics, enabling our customers to explore, understand and visualize data interactively. Designed for scientists, engineers, and anyone who wants to discover relationships and patterns in their data, JMP provides a highly visual and comprehensive statistical environment for exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and experimental design (or design of experiments) in a single package.
The JMP® Development Process
The foundations of the JMP development process are frequent customer contact; prototype releases as code is being developed; and open, informal dialogue between customers and senior development staff in the JMP development and product management teams. The JMP development process continues to be innovative, iterative, and highly collaborative.
Numerical Accuracy
One of the most critical quality issues in software development, especially for analytical software, is the accuracy and reliability of results. In this context, accuracy is the degree of agreement between the reported result and the true value. JMP uses a variety of methods to ensure, to the greatest extent possible, that the software produces accurate, reliable, and numerically precise results. One of these methods is comparison with the National Institute of Standards and Technology Statistical Reference Data sets (StRD). Read more about the results of this testing in these white papers (in English).
Operational Qualification of JMP/JMP Pro
To assist customer validation or operational qualification (OQ) efforts, JMP provides a set of tests based on the StRD in an extensible framework, available for download (requires registration).
Installation Qualification of JMP/JMP Pro
JMP provides a tool for verifying that JMP software has been installed and maintained to the manufacturer’s specifications. This tool verifies the integrity of each installed file and provides a report detailing the results (available for Windows only and requires registration).
Installation Qualification of JMP Clinical
JMP Clinical also provides a tool for verifying that JMP Clinical software has been installed and maintained to the manufacturer’s specifications. This tool verifies the integrity of each installed file and provides a report detailing the results (available for Windows only and requires registration).
