This option is a study management level tool that enables you to specify the CDISC variable value order within results. This includes most plot legends, distributions, and tables, as well as some outlined sections.

Click to open the Set Value Ordering in Studies window.
This window has the following elements
•
The Study outline label indicates the current study being modified. Click on the arrow to collapse/expand the study.
•
A collapsible/expandable outline for each domain and its relevant variables.
•
A collapsible/expandable outline for each variable within each domain. Each variable has a field listing the values and a set of controls used for specifying the order in which the values are presented in the report.
Valid Value Orderings
•
Alphabetic: All values in the variable are to be ordered in either ascending () or descending () alphabetical order.
•
Natural: All values in the variable are to be ordered in either ascending () or descending () most logical order.
This ordering is also used for properly numerically ordering numeric values.
•
Ad hoc: User can specify any ordering of the values. Highlight one or more values with the variable and click or to move the selected value(s) up or down, respectively.
Color Controls
Use these controls to set the color the individual values for each of the variables. You can either set a color theme for the variable (see below) of specify the color for each variable using the pop-up palette.
Color Theme
Use the drop-down menu to select the color theme for the variable used in any JMP Clinical report graphic.
Note: The color theme assigns colors to each value dependent on the order of the values. If you change the value ordering, the color each value is assigned also changes to reflect the new ordering.
Color Overrides
Color overrides allow you to maintain the specified color for each value of a variable in the event you change the value ordering. Overrides are indicated by a plus sign (+) next to the value name and color indicator. You can override a color theme either by specifically assigning colors to each value or by using the controls described below:
•
Override all level colors: Click to lock existing selected colors for each value of the variable to be maintained in spite of any value ordering changes.
•
Swap colors: Click to swap colors between a pair of values.
•
Apply color theme and overrides to all treatment variables: Click to propagate color settings to all treatment variables (and for overrides, to the extent that levels are named the same). Note: This option is available only for treatment variables. You should set the combination of theme/override to use prior to clicking this option.
•
Clear: Click to remove overrides from all values in the variable and revert colors to those specified by the selected color scheme.
•
Reset: Click to revert all colors for the selected variable to the default setting.
Global Controls

Use the drop-down list to make global changes to the window display and/or value ordering. Options include expanding/contracting all Study, Domain and Variable outlines, sorting all values across all variables alphabetically/naturally ascending/descending, globally changing or restting color themes, clearing or resetting overrides, and resetting all orderings and colors to factory defaults.

Click once you have made your selections to apply those changes to the study.

Click to cancel any changes made and close the Set Value Ordering in Studies window.
Additional Details
•
By default, all values are ordered in ascending natural order. The only exception is the reference range indicator variable (xxNRIND), which is ordered in descending natural order.
•
Variables in each domain are listed in alphabetical order.
•
The last specified value ordering is honored whenever you update the study with data sets containing new variables and/or values.
•
Value ordering is specific variables is assumed to be consistent across all domains in the study. To comply with this assumption, in studies where multiple domains contain the same variable(s), the Set Value Ordering in Studies window displays the first instance of each variable only, and all copies of this variable in other domains will honor its ordering.
