Major Allele Variable

The Major Allele Variable field is used to specify the variable that lists the major alleles for each marker. If the major allele for a study does not match the major allele from the first study, the sign of the effect is switched when combining results.

To Specify the Annotation Major Allele Variable:

Specify the Annotation SAS Data Set.

All of the variables in the specified annotation data set are displayed in the Available Variables field.

Examine the list of available variables.

Highlight the variable listing the major alleles.

Click to add the highlighted variable to the Major Allele Variable field.

Note: If this variable is not specified, then computation times are increased to determine the major allele.
