List of weight values for the selection index
Use this text box to specify a list of numerical values indicating the weights used to compute a selection index. The weight for each trait will be used to compute an index for each individual. A 0 is entered for the traits you do not want to include in the index.
You must enter a number for each of the Scoring Code Files specified. Numbers in the list must be in the same order in which the scoring code files specified and must be separated from each other by blank spaces.
To Specify the List of Weight Values:
8 | Specify the Scoring Code Files. |
8 | Make sure that the Simulate progenies, and Compute selection index check boxes are checked. |
8 | Decide the weights you wish to assign for each trait. the traits associated with the first listed scoring code file. Use zero for the traits for which you do not want to include in the index. |
8 | Enter the weight value in the text box. Repeat for each subsequent scoring code file. Be sure to leave a blank space between each designation. |
In the example shown here, three Scoring Code Files were specified. Suppose we want to use only the traits in the first and third files but ignore the traits in the second file. Additionally, suppose the weights for first and third traits are 0.7 and 0.3, respectively. To ignore the second file, a value of 0 is used. Enter values in the text box as shown below:
