Probe Normalization Method
Specify a method for normalization.
Note: The options that you see might differ from those shown or described.
Methods are described below.
Method |
Description |
None |
No normalization is performed. |
Mean Scaling |
Shift the data of each array to have the same mean, which is defaulted to zero. |
Median Scaling |
Shift the data of each array to have the same median, which is defaulted to zero. |
Quantile |
Normalizes the data by quantile normalization. The kernel parameters are set to the same as default in the Quantile Normalization process. If you want to perform quantile normalization using different parameters, open the Quantile Normalization process under Expression > Normalization. |
Loess |
Normalizes the data by loess normalization. The smoothing parameter, kernel parameters, and number of loess iterations are set to the same as default in the Loess Normalization process. If you want to perform loess normalization using different parameters, please open the Loess Model Normalization process under Expression > Normalization. |
MAT |
Performs model-based analysis of tiling arrays for detection of regions binding probes containing sequences enriched for transcription factor binding sites. (Johnson et al., PNAS, 2006). |
