List of selection similarity cut off (one value per generation)
Use this option to specify a list of values to use as a cutoff for selecting progeny based on similarity to the recurrent parent.
Specify a list of numerical values (between 0 and 1) indicating the cut-off to select progenies based on the similarity to the recurrent parent. Only those progenies in the selected subset will be crossed to produce the next breeding generation. There must be one numeric value, in the range of 0 and 1, separated by blank spaces for each generation specified in the Number of Generations option. Every cross, in a given generation, will use the same cut off value to select simulated progenies. For instance, if there are three generations, then a list "0.50 0.75 0.85" (without quotes) sets the analysis to select progenies with values either greater (high values) or smaller (low values) than 50%, 75%, and 85% similarity to the recurrent parent in the first, second, and third generation, respectively.
To Specify the Selection Similarity Cut Off Values:
8 | Make sure that the Backcross Parental Lines Variable in the Input SAS Data Set has been specified. |
8 | Select Backcross as the multi-generational mating type. |
8 | Check the Select simulated progenies based on similarity to parents check box. |
8 | Specify the selection direction using the Choose the selection direction for the similarity option. |
8 | Enter the desired cut off value for each generation (or a dot) in the text box. Be sure to leave a blank space between each value. |
In the example shown here, we want to select progeny with grater than 50%, 75%, and 85% similarity to the recurrent parent in the first, second, and third generation, respectively. Enter 0.50 0.75 0.85 in the text box as shown below:
