Gene Symbol Variable

Use this field to specify the variable that contains the official gene symbols. It is used to make the web search link to the specified database. Each row must contain only one gene symbol.

Caution : Multiple gene symbols per row results in broken generated web links.

To Specify the Gene Symbol Variable:

Specify the Annotation SAS Data Set .

All of the variables in the specified annotation data set are displayed in the Available Variables field.

Examine the list of available variables.

Highlight the variable that lists symbols for the markers.

Click to add the highlighted variable to the Gene Symbol Variable field, as shown below:
