Gene Description Variable

Use this field to specify the variable containing the gene descriptions from the GenBank, Unigene, or Gene databases. This variable is used to generate the search link to PubMed or Entrez-Cross.

To Specify the Gene Description Variable:

Specify the Annotation SAS Data Set .

All of the variables in the specified annotation data set are displayed in the Available Variables field.

Examine the list of available variables.

Highlight the variable that lists descriptions for each of the genes.

Click to add the highlighted variable to the Gene Description Variable field, as shown below:
