Class Variables

Use this field to specify the character or numeric variable whose levels form distinct categories. Indicator variables are created for each level of each variable specified here.

To Specify One or More Class Variables:

Specify an Input SAS Data Set .

All of the variables in the input data set are displayed in the Available Variables field.

Examine the list of available variables.

Highlight one or more variables. To highlight multiple variables at once, hold down Ctrl while left-clicking on them.

Click to add the highlighted variable(s) to the Class Variables field, as shown below:

Caution : Specifying a very large number of class variables or using a data set with a large number of variables can prohibitively increase the time needed to run this process.
