Component to Be Trimmed
Use this text box to specify the percentage of data to be trimmed on the
M
component (
y
-axis of the
MA Plot
) before
normalization
. The
half percentage
of data with upper and lower
M
values are trimmed. Trimming in this way reduces the chance that counts that differ greatly between the sample and baseline could skew the normalized values.
For example, a value of
30
specifies that the lowest 15% and highest 15% of the values on the
M
component are to be removed from the normalization process.
