Sample Size Variable

Use this field to specify the variable containing sample sizes.

Note: This variable should be named consistently across all of the data sets. If different variable names are used, the additional names must be specified on the Other Variable Names tab.

The square roots of the values are used to weight Z-scores when study p-values are combined together.

Note: This option is available only when Square root of sample size is selected as the Method to Use.

To Specify the Sample Size Variable:

Specify the Input SAS Data Set.

Select Square root of sample size as the Method to Use.

All of the variables in the specified input data set are displayed in the Available Variables field.

Examine the list of available variables.

Highlight the variable whose values define the sample size.

Click to add the highlighted variable to the Sample Size Variable field, as shown below:
