Example of a Minimum Potential Design

Use the Space Filling Design platform to construct a Minimum Potential design:

1. Select DOE > Special Purpose > Space Filling Design.

2. Add 3 continuous factor and set the factor level values to 0 and 1.

3. Click Continue.

4. In the Space Filling Design Methods section, specify 12 for the Number of Runs.

5. Click the Minimum Potential button.

6. Click Make Table.

Visualize the Minimum Potential Design

You can see the spherical symmetry of the Minimum Potential design using the Scatterplot 3D graphics platform.

1. After you make the JMP design table, select Graph > Scatterplot 3D.

2. Select X1, X2, and X3 and click Y, Columns.

3. Click OK to see the initial three-dimensional scatterplot of the design points.

4. Click the Scatterplot 3D red triangle and select Normal Contour Ellipsoids.

5. Right-click the plot and select Settings.

6. Use the Marker Size slider to increase the marker size.
