Use filters to reduce the list of all columns based on text searches, modeling types, property types, and user selection.
The following example uses a search string to filter the columns of the Consumer Preferences.jmp data table.
Filter by Search String
Begin by opening Consumer Preferences.jmp from the Sample Data Folder.
1. Select Cols > Columns Manager.
2. In the Filter search bar, type the search string “ten”.
The Columns Manager displays only the two columns, Employee Tenure and Position Tenure, whose names contain the search string phrase.
The following example filters the columns of the Consumer Preferences.jmp data table to display only the numeric columns with value labels assigned to them.
Filter by Modeling Type and Property
Begin by opening Consumer Preferences.jmp from the Sample Data Folder.
1. Select Cols > Columns Manager.
2. Select Modeling Type > Uncheck All.
3. Select Modeling Type > Continuous.
4. Select Modeling Type > Ordinal.
5. Select Property > Value Labels.
Columns Manager displays the eight columns that satisfy the filtering conditions.
To clear all filters, click the Clear button .
