Filtering Modes

In the JMP Data Filter, there are three modes of filtering: Select, Show, and Include. You can set and clear these modes using the corresponding check boxes.

Select

(Not available for the Local Data Filter.) Shows the selected rows in the data table in a highlighted state.

You can turn off the automatic selection of this option using the Data Filter Select Mode preference. See also “Preferences for JMP Data Filters”.

Show

Shows the unselected rows with the Hide icon Image shown here.

You can turn on the automatic selection of this option using the Data Filter Show Mode preference. For more information about row states, see the “Preferences for JMP Data Filters”.

Include

Shows the unselected rows with the Exclude icon Image shown here.

You can turn on the automatic selection of this option using the Data Filter Include Mode preference. For more information about row states, see the “Preferences for JMP Data Filters”.

There are two additional options when filtering: Auto clear and Conditional. These options are available from the red triangle menu for the Data Filter. See Red Triangle Options for the Data Filter.
