Mixed-Level Screening Designs

The Screening Design platform includes the option to build a mixed-level main effects screening design. These designs allow for the mix of two-level and three-level factors in a main effects design. The designs are available when you have at least four continuous or three-level discrete numeric factors and any number of two-level categorical factors. The design construction enables the use of three-level continuous factors. The designs are focused on estimating main effects. However, they can also identify large quadratic effects. See Jones. et al. (2023).

The mixed-level screening designs are an alternative to definitive screening designs, particularly for designs with many two-level factors. See Definitive Screening Designs.
