Distance to Include Downstream and Upstream of Gene

Use this option to specify the amount of upstream and downstream DNA flanking each gene to include within the gene.

Note: The distance specified here is on the same scale as the Location Variable specified on the General tab.

Specify 0 to consider the “gene” to consist of the sequence between the Start and Stop positions. Specify 100 to include sequence between 100 KB upstream of the Start position (assuming the scale of the Location variable is in KB) and 100 KB downstream of the Stop position.

To Specify a Distance:

Either type the desired value into the text field, or move the slider to the right or to the left to change the value.

Tip: To change the scale of the slider, right-click on the slider and select Rescale Slider from the pop-up menu. Change the upper and/or lower boundaries in the window that appears, to rescale the slider and click OK.
