Process Description
Create a Design Data Set from an Existing Data Set
The Create a Design Data Set from an Existing Data Set process constructs an Experimental Design Data Set (EDDS) from an existing tall SAS data set. One of its main tasks is to create a variable called ColumnName whose values are the names of the columns in the tall data set containing the primary experimental data. You can add and subsequently fill in additional columns corresponding to the experimental conditions in a JMP table and then save the result as a SAS data set.
What do I need?
One tall SAS data set is required to run the Create a Design Data Set from an Existing Data Set process. The drosophilaaging.sas7bdat data set from the Drosophila Aging Experimental Data of Jin, et al. (2001) is used in the example that follows. Note that this is a tall data set; each gene or spot corresponds to one row whereas each column corresponds to separate experimental conditions.
For detailed information about the files and data sets used or created by JMP Genomics software, see Files and Data Sets.
Output/Results
The output data sets generated by this process are listed in a Results window. Refer to the Create a Design Data Set from an Existing Data Set output documentation for detailed descriptions.
