Process Description
Transpose Rectangular
The Transpose Rectangular process transposes a SAS data set, switching columns to rows (or rows to columns).
Caution and Tip: Be aware that the output data set can become unwieldy when there are thousands of rows in the input data set. In this case, it can be more efficient to first use Statistics for Columns or Merge to create a smaller input data set.
What do I need?
One Input Data Set is required for this process.
For example, the adsl_dii_phlebitis.sas7bdat data set (found in the \LifeSciences\Sample Data\Nicardipine\ADaM directory included with JMP Genomics and JMP Clinical, and described in Nicardipine) can be chosen, with _NAME_ specified as an ID Variable, and AEI_: CMI_: MHI_: LBI_: specified in the List-Style Specification of Transpose Variables. This data set is shown below, with shading used to aid in before-and-after comparison. Note that MODERATELY_DISABLED is not included as a transpose variable.
For detailed information about the files and data sets used or created by JMP Genomics software, see Files and Data Sets.
