Specify the model on the Model tab of Easy DOE. This model is your best guess of the factors and interactions that you think are most important. There are four model types to choose from:
Main Effects
The model assumes that the variability in your responses is explained by the sum of the one or more of the individual factors. This is the simplest model type.
Main Effects (Uncorrelated with Two-Factor Interactions)
The model estimates the main effects such that they are not biased by potential interaction effects.
Main Effects (Including All Two-Factor Interactions)
The model includes all main effects and two-factor interactions.
Response Surface Design
The model assumes that one or more factors has a non-linear effect on the response. The model has main effects, interactions, and quadratic terms. Use a response surface design to optimize process settings.
Note: The Flexible Mode enables model specification as in the Custom Design platform. See, for example, Model.
The default Number of Runs for each model represent a balance between economy (minimize runs) and estimation (maximize runs). Make changes as needed. If you enter a number of runs below the minimum number required, JMP adjusts the number to the minimum.
