Choose Screening Type

In the Screening Design platform, the Choose Screening Type section enables you to select a standard design, to construct a main effects design, or to construct a mixed-level design.

Choose from a list of fractional factorial designs

(Available only if a standard design can accommodate your factor settings.) Enables you to select from a list of designs. Design types include two-level full and fractional factorials, Plackett-Burman, classical mixed-level, and Cotter designs. See Fractional Factorial Designs.

Construct a main effects screening design

Opens the Design Generation section for a main effects design. Specify the number of runs as Minimum, Default, or User Specified. The user-specified number of runs must be equal to or greater than the minimum number of runs. For more information about main effects screening designs, see Main Effects Screening Designs.

Note: When a main effects design is the only viable design for your factors and settings, the main effects design generation opens by default. See Design Generation.

Construct a mixed-level screening design

(Available only when the design contains at least four continuous factors or three-level discrete numeric and any categorical factors have only two levels.) Opens the Design Generation section for a mixed-level design. Select a design based on the number of runs you can execute. See Mixed-Level Screening Designs.
